Terms and conditions for Tørring Kanoudlejning and Kanofart
General terms and conditions
Tørring Kanoudlejning and Kanofart offers canoe and kayak hire for individuals and companies. By booking, you accept the applicable terms and conditions described below.
Rental agreement
The rental agreement comes into effect when the booking is confirmed and the total payment is completed. Changes or cancellations must be made in accordance with our cancellation policy.
Right of cancellation
According to the Consumer Contracts Act, the following applies No 14-day right of cancellation for rental agreements covering a specific date or period, cf. section 18(2)(12) of the Act.
Payment methods
We accept the following payment methods:
- Visa/Debit card
- Mastercard
- MobilePay
Payment is deducted upon booking confirmation.
Right of complaint
The Renter has the right to complain about faults or defects in the equipment that occur upon collection or during the rental period. Complaints must be made immediately via the following contact details:

We reserve the right to repair faults or replace defective equipment where possible.
Cancellation policy
- In case of cancellation no later than 4 weeks before start date/time the full amount will be refunded, less a fee of DKK 200.
- In case of cancellation Less than 4 weeks before start date/time 75% of the full amount will be refunded.
- In case of cancellation Less than 14 days before start date/time 50% of the full amount will be refunded.
- In case of cancellation less than 7 days before start date/time the amount will not be refunded.
Cancellation must be made in writing via email to mail@kano-udlejning.dk. Please include contact information, order number and account number.
Any optional extras purchased are fully refundable, if the cancellation is made no later than 24 hours before the start date/time and the cancellation option has been purchased.
Purchase of cancellation option
We offer a flexible cancellation option that can be purchased for only 5% of the total amount of the bookingwith a minimum of 50 kr. This option gives you better cancellation terms, including refunds of up to 100%.

Responsibility
The Renter is responsible for the correct use and return of the rented equipment. Any damage to or loss of equipment due to the renter's carelessness will be charged at the applicable rates.
- No later than 4 weeks before start: The full amount will be refunded, less a fee of DKK 200.
- Less than 4 weeks before start75% of the amount will be refunded.
- Less than 14 days before start50% of the amount will be refunded.
- Less than 7 days before start: No refunds.
Cancellation must be made in writing to mail@kano-udlejning.dk and contain your contact details, order number and reg. and account number.
Please note: If you have purchased our cancellation option, different conditions apply.
With our cancellation option, you can protect yourself against unforeseen events such as bad weather or a change of plans. The price is 5 % of the total amount of the booking, with a minimum of DKK 50. The add-on is selected and paid at the time of booking and cannot be added afterwards.
Refund conditions for cancellations
- No later than 48 hours before start: 100% of the full amount will be refunded*.
- No later than 36 hours before start: 75% of the full amount will be refunded*.
- No later than 24 hours before start: 50% of the full amount will be refunded*.
- Less than 24 hours before start: No refunds.
*The amount for the purchased cancellation option is non-refundable.
Cancellation of all or part of the booking
The cancellation option also gives you the flexibility to change only parts of your booking. For example, if you have booked five canoes and only need four, you can easily cancel one canoe and get the corresponding amount refunded according to the above deadlines.
Modifications and options
You can always change your booking after payment by contacting us by email or phone. Any optional extras are always 100% refundable upon cancellation.
When booking, life jackets must be ordered for the number of people travelling. It is important to choose the right sizes to ensure optimal safety and comfort.
Vests and paddles
- Children under 20kg: Children's paddles are not included.
- Children 20-30kg: A children's paddle is automatically included.
- 30kg and upwards: An adult paddle is automatically included.
If you want to change the number or type of paddles, please indicate this in the comments section when booking.
Own equipment
If you bring your own life jackets, this must also be noted in the booking. Adult paddles will automatically be packed for those people unless otherwise stated under comments.
Vests and safety
Our life jackets and life jackets are in good condition, cleaned and ready to use. If you choose life jackets during booking, it is a requirement that the person can swim a minimum of 150 metres.
Please note: Tørring Kanoudlejning cannot be held responsible for accidents when using collared life jackets or life jackets.
Start location
The canoe/kayak will be ready for you from 9.00 am on the start date, unless otherwise agreed. Under the Canoe/Kayak will be paddles, life jackets and any optional products that have been ordered in advance.
At one end of the canoe/kayak, you'll find a plastic pocket with a delivery slip with your details and a map of the Gudenås system.
End location
It is important that the canoe/kayak is delivered to the agreed end point by the following times:
- 16.00 on the end date (unless otherwise agreed).
- On Silkeborg Harbour special end times apply:
- Low season (1/4-15/6 and 16/8-30/9): 17:00 at the latest.
- High season (16/6-15/8): No later than 20:00.
- On Åle Teltplads, Åstedbro Teltplads and Gudenå Camping: By 17.00 at the latest.
If the final destination needs to be changed, please call us at +45 75 80 13 01 no later than 12.00 noon on the last day you sail to inform us of the change.
Call us from the end location: Once you are safely ashore, please call the phone number on the delivery slip so we know that both you and the canoe/kayak have been delivered.
When you leave the canoe/kayak, place it on the shore with the bottom up and put all equipment underneath.
Important rules and recommendations
- Dogs are allowed, but we do not rent life jackets for dogs.
- Dogs/pets are not allowed if you are travelling with our Family Packages where you stay in pitched tents.
- To avoid theft or misplacement, it is recommended to leave the canoe/kayak on land overnight and take paddles, life jackets and any extra seats to the tent/shelter/cabin.
Liability and insurance
- The renter is liable for damage caused to the canoe/kayak or equipment through gross negligence and for any loss.
- We do not cover damage to personal belongings or persons during the trip.
- Damage to third-party property caused by the canoe/kayak is the responsibility of the renter via their own liability insurance.

When ordering car transport, the start and end locations are determined - please be aware of specific start and end locations. If the car is moved and you want a different end location, the full car transport price will be recalculated. Only cars that can drive are transported. The car must have a maximum track width of 195cm and a maximum wheelbase of 450cm. If the car is larger than this, we must be notified and the car will instead be driven by one of our drivers.
Silkeborg Kanocenter's liability begins upon the actual physical handover of the car/keys. Liability ceases upon the actual physical delivery of the car or if delivery takes place outside normal opening hours, when the car has been delivered in locked condition to a place designated by you and the keys have been placed either in the agreed place and manner or in Silkeborg Kano Centre's key storage locations.
As the owner of the vehicle, you accept that Silkeborg Kanocenter/Slusekioskens Kanoudlejning (hereinafter SK) will transport your vehicle to and from destinations during the specified booked period. SK or one of our business partners will keep the key to your vehicle or by agreement be placed in a key box.
SK's liability begins when one of the company's employees takes over the car. Liability ends when the car has been delivered to the agreed destination and the keys have been placed either at the agreed location or at one of the company's pre-selected storage locations.
The car remains at the customer's own risk before and after the transport. This means that vandalism and possible burglary cannot lead to liability for damages to SK as part of the removal of the car.
Basis of liability: SK shall be liable for transport damage caused by the company to the vehicle during the period of liability, except in cases of force majeure, which includes war, strike or a natural disaster that makes it impossible to fulfil the contract. Excluded from SK's liability are indirect losses, including operating losses at the recipient as a result of delayed or prevented delivery.
SK cannot be held liable for damage that could not reasonably have occurred during transport or could not be detected by SK. Nor for minor damage such as scratches and dents on used cars as well as for goods and accessories etc. placed in the cars. SK is not liable for damage that is not visible due to e.g. dirty surfaces on the cars. SK is not liable for damage to window panes in the form of stone chips or cracks/cracks in the glass where the cause cannot be identified with certainty.
Any complaints regarding the car delivered to the agreed location without the customer being present must be submitted by the customer to SK on the same day as the customer arrives at the location.
Insurances: SK ensures that all insurances for liability and risk during transport are taken out via a special car transport insurance when the car is transported on a car trailer.
As a rule, the car is always transported on a car trailer. In a busy period, it can be agreed between SK and the customer that the car is transported by our employees. All SK employees have signed a solemn declaration that they comply with Danish law.
We process and store personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Danish legislation.
Personal data is only stored for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose of the processing or to comply with legal requirements, after which it is deleted.
Customers have the right to at any time:
- To gain insight into the personal data we have registered about them.
- To request rectification or erasure of data if it is in accordance with the law.
