Season opening on the North Line: The stretch from Klostermølle to Fladbro near Randers is open for sailing from 1 April to 30 September.
Season opening on the South Line: On the southern part of Gudenåen, between Tørring and Klostermølle, sailing is only permitted from 16 June each year - so sailing is open from 16 June to 30 September.

The northern part of Gudenåen includes the famous Silkeborg Lakes, located in the scenic Lake Highlands. Here you'll find popular destinations such as Himmelbjerget, Slåensø, Paradisøerne and the historic Klüwers Kanal, which takes you to Avnsø/Brillerne.
The accommodation options around the Silkeborg Lakes are many and varied. Day trips and experiences from Silkeborg Harbour
For those of you who want a day trip, Silkeborg Harbour is an obvious starting point. From here you can sail out onto the Silkeborg Lakes and enjoy a day filled with nature experiences. After a wonderful day on the water, the trip can end back at the harbour. Alternatively, you can sail north and end your trip at for example Kongensbro Teltplads - a perfect route for an eventful day. It also makes sense to start from Ry and end your trip in Silkeborg, as you'll sail past Himmelbjerget, Slåensø, Paradisørne and Avnsø.

Unlike the southern part of the Gudenåen, sailing on the northern stretch is allowed all year round. You can already plan and book your trip via our user-friendly booking system, which makes it easy to customise a trip in Denmark's most beautiful nature. We are open seasonally from 1/4-30/9.

At Tørring Kanoudlejning we offer carefully customised package deals that make it easy to combine canoeing on Gudenåen with fantastic accommodation options. Whether you're travelling as a family or looking for an authentic nature experience, we have a package to suit you.
Family packages - for easy and convenient canoeing
Our family packages are tailor-made for families, families with young children, couples with friends where the trip is planned in advance. You stay at selected campsites or campsites chosen by you with tents pitched and ready for your arrival. Each tent is equipped with 4 camp beds, but you are allowed to book up to 5 people for each tent, as long as you remember to bring an extra sleeping mat for the 5th person. The tents are located on:
- Åstedbro Campsite
- Vestbirk Camping
- Gammel Rye Campsite
- Holmens Camping
The tents are equipped with cots so you don't have to pitch a tent and can focus on enjoying the trip. Just bring your own sleeping bag and other necessary equipment. The campsites offer family-friendly facilities and plenty of space for fun and games. The tent pitches offer more primitive conditions, but always with proper toilet facilities. The price includes accommodation at the chosen campsite, so it's a complete package.
Pioneer packs - the ultimate nature experience
Dreaming of being close to nature? Our pioneer packages give you the opportunity to stay at primitive campsites along the Gudenå River. A spacious 4-person igloo tent is included in the price so you can experience the magical surroundings of Gudenåen up close. This is the package for those who want an authentic and natural experience. You decide where you spend the night, but we recommend the primitive campsites, where some are free and others cost up to DKK 50 per person per night. The price of accommodation is not included in the price.

Flexible end point, car transport and the Modstrom bus
Flexible end point - customise your trip along the way
At Tørring Kanoudlejning, you can easily customise your trip even while you're on the water. Call us before noon on the last day of your sailing and we'll change your final destination to suit your wishes and pace.
Car transport from Tørring - safe and professional
For many years, we have had great partners who offer car transport for those who start their canoe trip from Tørring. The experienced and skilled drivers will make sure to move your car safely to your desired final destination. This service requires:
- Bring along Two sets of car keysof which the spare key is handed in at the start in Tørring.
- At the end of the tour, the spare key can be picked up at a key storage point along Gudenåen.
This ensures a hassle-free journey where the car is ready when you're done travelling.
The countercurrent bus - free return option during the summer holidays
If you sail on the southernmost stretch of the Gudenåen during the summer holidays, you can take the Modstrømsbus back to the starting point for FREE. The bus has room for 47 passengers and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

The countercurrent bus stops at campsites, tent sites and Tørring Kano & Kajakhus on the stretch between Tørring and Klostermølle, and is FREE for canoeists and kayakers.
Cancellation - only with us
As the only canoe and kayak rental company on Gudenåen, we offer the option to purchase cancellation insurance. This gives you flexibility and peace of mind if you are prevented from travelling, for example due to illness, bad weather or a change of plans. For a small additional cost, you can protect yourself against unforeseen events.
If you do not choose to purchase cancellation, our general cancellation policy applies.
