The Pioneer packages are for those of you who are looking for challenges and exciting experiences in nature – whether you’re an experienced canoeist or just looking for something new. Not only will you get your adrenaline pumping, but you’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful and unique nature that Guden\u00e5en and its surroundings offer. Fresh air fills your lungs and after the day’s hardships, you can look forward to the satisfying feeling of tiredness in your body. <\/p>\n

Tour duration andaccommodation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Our Pioneer Packages are 2, 3, 4 or 5 days long and you’ll stay in the 4-person igloo tents provided. The tents are handed out with the canoe on the start day, and when your adventure is over, you take the tent home as part of the package. <\/p>\n

We recommend primitive campsites along Guden\u00e5en where you choose where you want to spend the night. The campsites allow you to enjoy the tranquility and nature close to the river. However, it’s entirely up to you whether you want to use the primitive campsites or if you prefer a campsite with more facilities. Primitive campsites typically cost between DKK 40-50 per night, while some sites are free. If you’d rather use a campsite, you can also find several good options along the route. <\/p>\n

With the Pioneer Packages, you decide the route and pace yourself. You’re responsible for pitching your tent each night and you can plan the trip to suit your needs and wishes. Two-day canoe adventure on Guden\u00e5en – a guide to nature experiences and fun<\/strong><\/p>\nDay 1: From T\u00f8rring to \u00c5stedbro – meandering rivers and tranquility in nature<\/strong>
\nThe tour starts in T\u00f8rring<\/strong>, where you have a two-hour sail to the beautiful area of Verdens Ende<\/strong>. This landing site offers table\/bench sets and a bird tower where you can enjoy the view of the area. There are no toilet facilities, but it’s a great place to take a short break and enjoy nature. \n

After Verdens Ende you continue on one of Guden\u00e5en’s most winding stretches. This part of the river between T\u00f8rring<\/strong> and \u00c5le<\/strong> takes you through a flat wetland with reed forests and many small tributary streams. After an hour of sailing, you’ll arrive at the \u00c5le Teltplads<\/strong>which is equipped with a toilet and tables\/benches – a great place to take a lunch break and stretch your legs. <\/p>\n

After another hour of sailing, you’ll arrive in \u00c5stedbro Teltplads<\/strong>where you set up camp for the night. Here you’ll find facilities such as a toilet and table\/bench set as well as the opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal at \u00c5stedbro Grillen<\/strong>, which is close to the campsite. <\/p>\n

\nDay 2: From \u00c5stedbro to Vestbirk Camping – nature experiences and activities<\/strong>
\nOn day two, even more nature experiences await along the Guden\u00e5 River. As you sail on from \u00c5stedbro, you’ll quickly experience the peace and quiet that only the Guden\u00e5en surroundings can offer. After 2 hours of sailing you will arrive Guden\u00e5 Camping<\/strong> in Brestenbro. Here you can take a break in the cozy caf\u00e9 area and enjoy a cup of coffee or a light refreshment. For those with the time and inclination, the campsite’s fun and challenging miniature golf course<\/strong> is an obvious choice – an activity that creates both laughter and competition. \n

After Brestenbro, the river becomes wider and deeper, making the trip extra comfortable. Soon you’ll reach Bredvad M\u00f8lle<\/strong>, where there is a rest area with toilets. To find the site, turn right just before Bredvad Bridge. Once you’ve passed under the bridge, sail on through Bredvad Lake<\/strong>, then keep right and you’ll arrive at Vestbirk Camping<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Vestbirk Camping<\/strong> is not just a place to end your trip, but an opportunity to enjoy the last of the day. In the green surroundings, you can satisfy your hunger in the campsite’s cozy grill bar or say hello to their cuddly goats – an experience that children will especially love. \nFrom your start in T\u00f8rring, the tour begins on the Guden\u00e5en, where you quickly get away from civilization and into the tranquility of nature. The first stop on the route is Guden\u00e5 Camping<\/strong> in Brestenbro. Here you can take a break, enjoy their cozy caf\u00e9 area and try out their wonderful mini golf course – a fun and different activity in the middle of the tour. \n

After Brestenbro, the river widens and the water deepens. At Bredvadm\u00f8lle<\/strong> you’ll find a rest area with a toilet, which is located on the right just before Bredvad Bridge. Shortly after sailing under the bridge, you’ll reach Bredvad Lake<\/strong>, which you sail through. Then keep to the right and you will arrive at Vestbirk Camping<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Vestbirk Camping is not just a stop on the route – it’s a great opportunity for a short break. Here you can stock up on provisions and satisfy your hunger in their cozy grill bar. The campsite offers great facilities and with its location close to the river, it’s an ideal place to enjoy a break. <\/p>\n

After Vestbirk Camping, the tour continues through one of the most beautiful stretches of Guden\u00e5en. Keep right as you enter the small canal that leads you through the upper part of Naldal Lake<\/strong> and into Vestbirk Lake<\/strong>. From here you continue on to Vestbirk Hydroelectric Power Station<\/strong>, which is an exciting stop with history and beautiful nature. At the power plant, the canoe must be carried across with canoe carts. <\/p>\n

When you arrive at Voervadsbro Teltplads<\/strong>, you’ll set up camp for the night. Don’t miss a visit to Det Lille R\u00f8geri<\/strong>, located just a 5-minute walk from the campsite. \nDay 2: From Voervadsbro to Ry – an ending with magnificent nature<\/strong>
\nOn day two, one of the most beautiful stretches of the Guden\u00e5 River awaits. From Voervadsbro you have about 1.5 hours sailing to Klosterm\u00f8lle<\/strong>where the river winds through jungle-like vegetation and narrow passages. Remember to stay in the stream channel to avoid getting stuck. \n

At Klosterm\u00f8lle Teltplads<\/strong>, the canoes must be pulled ashore and carried by canoe carts. Klosterm\u00f8lle is full of history and activities – here you can see an old drying barn, an exhibition about the history of the area and a bird tower with an impressive view of Moss\u00f8<\/strong>. You can also take the trail to Sukkertoppen<\/strong>, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape from 108 meters above sea level. <\/p>\n

The tour continues towards Gammel Rye<\/strong> and Emborg Bro<\/strong>where there are rest areas with toilets and tables\/benches. To get to Ry, you must sail into Birks\u00f8<\/strong> via a canal, which requires a short portage. Three-day canoe adventure on the Guden\u00e5en – experience nature, history and cozy stops along the way<\/strong><\/p>\nDay 1: From Ry to De Sm\u00e5 Fisk Teltplads – Himmelbjerget and the pearls of Juls\u00f8<\/strong>
\nYour tour starts shortly after Ry<\/strong>, where you sail past the protected Alling Vest Teltplads<\/strong>, a beautiful nature area worth enjoying from the waterside.\n

From here the tour continues through Rosvig<\/strong> and out into Juls\u00f8<\/strong>. You can take a detour to Himmelbjerget<\/strong>, where you can dock at Hotel Juls\u00f8<\/strong>. Remember to pull the canoe up either to the left of the ferries at bridge 51 or all the way to the right at the small sandy beach close to Hjejlen and the ferry berths. <\/p>\n

After Himmelbjerget you pass M\u00f8gel\u00f8<\/strong>, the largest island on Juls\u00f8, on your right. The island, which means “Big Island,” impresses with its size and natural beauty. As you approach Svejb\u00e6ksn\u00e6vringen<\/strong>, you have the opportunity to enjoy lunch at one of the area’s eateries such as \u00c5lekroen<\/strong>, Ludvigslyst<\/strong> or Skyttehusets Caf\u00e9<\/strong> – remember to check the opening hours. <\/p>\n

Further into Borres\u00f8<\/strong> you can take a detour to Sl\u00e5ens\u00f8<\/strong>, one of Denmark’s cleanest lakes. Here the canoe must be pulled up at the bottom of bridge 30, after which a short walk takes you to the lake. If time permits, a trip to Paradis\u00f8erne<\/strong>, located to the left in Borres\u00f8, is also a great option. <\/p>\n

The journey continues through Sejssn\u00e6vringen<\/strong> and into Brass\u00f8<\/strong>, where you arrive at De Sm\u00e5 Fisk Teltplads<\/strong>. The campsite is located on the right side and is a great place to camp for the night. A short walk brings you to Sejs<\/strong>, where there are shopping and places to eat. The site has a bathing area and is ideal for relaxing or playing ball games in scenic surroundings. <\/p>\n

\nDay 2: From De Sm\u00e5 Fisk Teltplads to Sminge Teltplads – Kl\u00fcvers Kanal and Silkeborg’s charm<\/strong>
\nStart the day by sailing through Kl\u00fcvers Kanal<\/strong>, a narrow, idyllic passage where the branches and leaves of the trees form a natural roof over the canoe. You’ll then reach the wooded Avns\u00f8<\/strong>, also known as “The Glasses” due to the shape of the lake, which resembles a pair of old-fashioned nose glasses. \n

The tour continues towards Silkeborg via Remstrup \u00c5<\/strong>, a 2.5 km long stretch that takes you to Silkeborg Harbor<\/strong>. Here you can take a break, stock up on provisions and explore the cozy town center with restaurants and shopping opportunities. From the harbor you sail past the Paper Factory<\/strong> and out into Silkeborg Langs\u00f8<\/strong>, where the river narrows. <\/p>\n

Just before Resenbro<\/strong> you’ll pass a rest area with toilets on the left, and after about 2.5 hours you’ll reach Sminge Lake<\/strong>, one of the best birdwatching locations along the Guden\u00e5en river. At the end of the lake is Sminge Teltplads<\/strong>, a protected and intimate nature site. The site is ideal for relaxing, and it’s a great place to visit the nearby Svostrup Kro<\/strong>a historic barge inn, which is about 800 meters away via Tr\u00e6kstien. <\/p>\n

\nDay 3: From Sminge to Ans – Kongensbro and H\u00f8j Stene<\/strong>
\nFrom Sminge you continue towards Tvilum Church<\/strong>, which is a short walk from a jetty. Here there is a toilet and a rest area that invites you to take a break. \n

After Tvilum Church, sail towards Kongensbro<\/strong>, where you have several options for lunch. Enjoy your packed lunch at Kongensbro Teltplads<\/strong> or treat yourself to a delicious lunch at Kongensbro Kro<\/strong>, located on the opposite side of the river. <\/p>\n

1.5 km after Kongensbro on the right-hand side you’ll find H\u00f8j Stene<\/strong>, one of Northern Europe’s largest Iron Age burial monuments. This impressive historical site is an ideal stop to experience an important part of Denmark’s cultural heritage. <\/p>\n

After H\u00f8j Stene, the tour continues on Lake Tange S\u00f8<\/strong>, Denmark’s largest artificial lake. At Tangev\u00e6rket \/ Energimuseet, the canoe will be transferred by canoe carts. The museum is an exciting stop for the whole family where you can learn more about the history of hydropower. <\/p>\n

When approaching Ans<\/strong>, sail under the bridge and keep left. The canoe must be returned no later than 16:00 at Ans Teltplads<\/strong>, which is located on the left side after a small island in the middle of Tange S\u00f8. <\/p>\n

\nDay 2 starts with you sailing towards Guden\u00e5 Camping<\/strong> Brestenbro. Here you’ll find a cozy caf\u00e9 area where you can take a break and enjoy a cup of coffee or a light lunch. The campsite also offers a fun miniature golf course<\/strong>, which is ideal for those who want an activity along the way. \n

After Brestenbro, the river becomes wider and deeper. When you reach Bredvadm\u00f8lle<\/strong>, you’ll find a rest area with a toilet. The site is on the right just before Bredvad Bridge<\/strong>. \nDay 3 starts with approx. 1.5 hours sailing to Klosterm\u00f8lle<\/strong>. This stretch is known for its beautiful and varied nature, where the river winds through jungle-like vegetation, narrow passages and wide rapids. It’s important to stay in the channel so that the canoe doesn’t get stuck. \n

At Klosterm\u00f8lle Teltplads<\/strong>, the canoes must be pulled up on land and you can use the designated canoe carts to carry them over. Klosterm\u00f8lle is a historical gem where you can experience an old drying barn, an exhibition about the history of the area and a bird tower with a beautiful view of Moss\u00f8<\/strong>. From Klosterm\u00f8lle you can also take the trail up to Sukkertoppen<\/strong>, which at 108 meters offers a magnificent view of the landscape. <\/p>\n

\nYour adventure begins shortly after Ry, where you pass the protected Alling Vest Teltplads<\/strong>, one of Guden\u00e5en’s most scenic areas.\n

From here the tour continues through Rosvig and out into Juls\u00f8<\/strong>. You can take a detour to Himmelbjerget<\/strong>, where you can dock at Hotel Juls\u00f8. Remember to pull the canoe up to the left of the ferries at bridge 51 or at the small sandy beach to the right of Hjejlen and the ferry berths. <\/p>\n

After Himmelbjerget you come to M\u00f8gel\u00f8<\/strong>, the largest island on Juls\u00f8, which impresses with its 28 acres of beautiful nature. As you approach Svejb\u00e6ksn\u00e6vringen<\/strong>, you’ll find several places to eat, including \u00c5lekroen<\/strong>, Ludvigslyst<\/strong> and Skyttehusets Caf\u00e9<\/strong> – be sure to check the opening hours if you want to enjoy lunch here. <\/p>\n

Further into Borres\u00f8<\/strong> you can take a detour to Sl\u00e5ens\u00f8<\/strong>, one of Denmark’s cleanest lakes. The canoe must be pulled up at the bottom of bridge 30, from where it’s a short walk to the lake. The Paradise Islands<\/strong>, located to the left in Borres\u00f8, are also worth a visit if time permits. <\/p>\n

After sailing through Sejssn\u00e6vringen<\/strong> and Brass\u00f8<\/strong> you reach De Sm\u00e5 Fisk Teltplads<\/strong>where you camp for the night. The campsite has a bathing area, ball field and a short walk to shopping in Sejs. <\/p>\n

\nDay 2: Kl\u00fcvers Kanal and the charm of Silkeborg<\/strong>
\nStart the day by sailing through Kl\u00fcvers Kanal<\/strong>, a narrow and idyllic passage where the trees form a natural tunnel over the water. The tour continues into Avns\u00f8<\/strong>, also known as “The Glasses” due to its shape. \n

On your way to Silkeborg, you sail along the Remstrup River<\/strong>, which leads you to Silkeborg Harbor. Here you can take a break, buy provisions and explore the cozy city center with shopping and restaurants. After Silkeborg Harbor, the tour continues past the Paper Factory and out into Silkeborg Langs\u00f8<\/strong>, where you again follow the river’s current towards Sminge S\u00f8<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

At Sminge Lake<\/strong> you’ll find Sminge Teltplads<\/strong>, a protected and intimate nature site where you can camp for the night. You can also take a detour to Svostrup Kro<\/strong>, a historic barge inn, which is only 800 meters away via Tr\u00e6kstien. <\/p>\n

\nDay 3: Tvilum Church, H\u00f8j Stene and Kongensbro<\/strong>
\nAfter Svostrup Kro you arrive at Tvilum Church<\/strong>, which is a short walk from a jetty. Here you’ll find toilets and a rest area – a perfect place for a break. \n

When you reach Kongensbro<\/strong>, you will find Kongensbro Teltplads<\/strong> on your right and Kongensbro Kro<\/strong> on your left, just before the big bridge. Here you can enjoy your own packed lunch or visit the inn and treat yourself to a meal in historic surroundings. <\/p>\n

After about two hours of sailing, you reach Verdens Ende<\/strong>, a peaceful landing place with tables\/benches and a bird tower – but no toilet. The journey then continues with even more turns through wetlands with reed forests and tributary streams. After another hour of sailing you will reach \u00c5le Teltplads<\/strong>where there is a toilet and tables\/benches – a great place to take a break. \n

After a good break, you’ll continue for an hour to \u00c5stedbro Teltplads<\/strong>where you set up camp for the night. The campsite offers toilets and tables\/benches and you can enjoy a delicious meal at \u00c5stedbro Grillen<\/strong>, located close to the campsite. <\/p>\n

\nDay 2: From \u00c5stedbro to Voervadsbro – Nature’s tranquility and local delicacies<\/strong>
\nOn day two you sail towards Guden\u00e5 Camping<\/strong> Brestenbro. Here you can take a break at the cozy caf\u00e9 area and enjoy a cup of coffee or a light lunch. The campsite also offers a fun mini golf course<\/strong>, perfect for a little competition along the way. \n

Further along the route, the river becomes deeper and wider. You reach Bredvadm\u00f8lle<\/strong>, where there is a rest area with a toilet. From here you sail through Bredvad Lake<\/strong>, keep right and arrive at Vestbirk Camping<\/strong>where you can stock up and enjoy a meal in their grill bar. <\/p>\n

The trip continues towards Voervadsbro<\/strong> via Naldal Lake<\/strong> and Vestbirk Lake<\/strong>, which are connected by narrow canals. At Vestbirk Hydroelectric Power Station<\/strong>, the canoe must be carried across with canoe carts. <\/p>\n

\nDay 3: From Voervadsbro Teltplads to Alling Vest Teltplads – History and scenic beauty<\/strong>
\nThe day starts with about 1.5 hours sailing to Klosterm\u00f8lle<\/strong>, one of the most scenic stretches of the Guden\u00e5. Here you sail through jungle-like vegetation and narrow passages. At theKlosterm\u00f8lle campsite<\/strong>, the canoe must be carried over with canoe carts. Klosterm\u00f8lle offers plenty of history – visit the old drying barn, the nature exhibition, and take the trail up to Sukkertoppen<\/strong>, from where there is a fantastic view of Moss\u00f8<\/strong>. \n

The tour continues through Gammel Rye<\/strong> and Emborg Bro<\/strong>where there are rest areas with toilets and tables\/benches. To continue towards Ry, take a short canal and a crossing at Birks\u00f8<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

In Ry<\/strong> you can take a break, stock up on provisions and explore the town before continuing towards Alling Vest Teltplads<\/strong>. The site is protected and offers unique nature and hiking opportunities. Remember to bring supplies as there are no shopping facilities at the campsite. <\/p>\n

\nDay 4: From Alling Vest to Silkeborg – Himmelbjerget and the pearls of Juls\u00f8<\/strong>
\nOn the last day you sail through Rosvig<\/strong> and out into Juls\u00f8<\/strong>, where a detour to Himmelbjerget<\/strong> is obvious. Most people choose to dock at Hotel Juls\u00f8<\/strong>, where the Hjejlen and ferries also dock. Remember to pull your canoe up to the left of the tour boats at bridge 51 or at the small sandy beach to the right of Hjejlen. \n

\nDay 3: From Sminge to Ans – Tvilum Church, H\u00f8j Stene and Kongensbro<\/strong>
\nOn day three you pass Tvilum Church<\/strong>, which is a short walk from a jetty. Here you’ll find a rest area and toilet – a perfect place to take a break. \n

Five days canoe adventure on Guden\u00e5en – From T\u00f8rring to Silkeborg<\/strong><\/p>\nDay 1: From T\u00f8rring to \u00c5stedbro – the meandering beginning of Guden\u00e5en<\/strong>
\nYour tour starts in T\u00f8rring<\/strong>, where you have a two-hour sail to Verdens Ende<\/strong>, a beautiful landing site with tables\/benches and a bird tower, but no toilet. From here, the trip continues through the most winding stretch of the Guden\u00e5, taking you through wetlands with reed forests and tributary streams. After an hour of sailing you reach \u00c5le Teltplads<\/strong>where there is a toilet and tables\/benches – an ideal place to take a break. \n

Another hour of sailing brings you to \u00c5stedbro Teltplads<\/strong>where you’ll set up camp for the night. The campsite offers toilets and tables\/benches, and you can enjoy a meal at \u00c5stedbro Grillen<\/strong>, which is close by. <\/p>\n

\nDay 2: From \u00c5stedbro to Voervadsbro – Beautiful nature and delicious delicacies<\/strong>
\nThe day starts with a boat trip to Guden\u00e5 Camping<\/strong> in Brestenbro, where you can take a break at their caf\u00e9 area and possibly try your hand at the mini golf course.\n

The tour continues past Bredvadm\u00f8lle<\/strong>, where there is a rest area with a toilet on the right before Bredvad Bridge<\/strong>. Then you sail through Bredvad Lake<\/strong>, keep to the right and arrive at Vestbirk Camping<\/strong>, which offers provisions and food in their cozy grill bar. <\/p>\n

On the stretch towards Voervadsbro you sail through Naldal Lake<\/strong>, Vestbirk Lake<\/strong> and on through narrow canals to Vestbirk Hydroelectric Power Station<\/strong>, where the canoe must be carried across with canoe carts.<\/p>\n

\nDay 3: From Voervadsbro to Alling Vest Teltplads – History and indulgences<\/strong>
\nFrom Voervadsbro you head towards Klosterm\u00f8lle<\/strong>, which is reached after about 1.5 hours of sailing through jungle-like vegetation and narrow passages. At Klosterm\u00f8lle Teltplads<\/strong>, the canoe must be carried over with canoe carts. Here you can experience the story of the monks from the 13th century, visit a drying barn, see an exhibition and take the trail to Sukkertoppen<\/strong> with an impressive view of Moss\u00f8<\/strong>. \n

From Klosterm\u00f8lle the river winds beautifully through the landscape towards Gammel Rye<\/strong> and Emborg Bro<\/strong>where there are rest areas with toilets and tables\/benches. From here you sail on towards Ry. To cross Birks\u00f8<\/strong>, you must use a canal with a short crossing. At Ry B\u00e5dhavn<\/strong> you can stock up on provisions and take a break. <\/p>\n

End the day at Alling Vest Teltplads<\/strong>, a protected and scenic area with hiking opportunities. Make sure you have stocked up in Ry, as there are no shopping facilities at the campsite. <\/p>\n

\nDay 4: From Alling Vest to De Sm\u00e5 Fisk Teltplads – Himmelbjerget and the pearls of Juls\u00f8<\/strong>
\nFrom Alling Vest you sail through Rosvig<\/strong> and out into Juls\u00f8<\/strong>, where a detour to Himmelbjerget<\/strong> is ideal. Moor at Hotel Juls\u00f8<\/strong> and remember to pull the canoe up to the left of the ferries at bridge 51 or to the right at Hjejlen and the ferries’ moorings. \n

After Himmelbjerget you pass M\u00f8gel\u00f8<\/strong> and sail through Svejb\u00e6ksn\u00e6vringen<\/strong>, where you can have lunch at \u00c5lekroen<\/strong>, Ludvigslyst<\/strong> or the Skyttehuset Caf\u00e9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Continuing through Borres\u00f8<\/strong>, you’ll find Sl\u00e5ens\u00f8<\/strong> to the left – one of Denmark’s cleanest freshwater lakes. If time permits, you can also visit the Paradise Lakes<\/strong>. The tour continues through Sejssn\u00e6vringen<\/strong> to Brass\u00f8<\/strong>, where you set up camp at De Sm\u00e5 Fisk Teltplads<\/strong>. The campsite has a swimming area, ball games area and is close to Sejs with shopping and restaurants. <\/p>\n

\nDay 5: From De Sm\u00e5 Fisk to Silkeborg – Kl\u00fcvers Kanal and the end of the tour<\/strong>
\nThe last day offers a trip through Kl\u00fcvers Kanal<\/strong>, a narrow and idyllic passage, and further into Avns\u00f8<\/strong>, also known as “The Glasses”.\n

You’ll then sail towards Silkeborg along the Remstrup River<\/strong>, which leads to Silkeborg Harbor<\/strong>.
