Tips and rules for canoeing

Information about sailing rules can be found on the Gudenå municipalities' website www.sejladspaagudenaaen.dk

It is allowed to be 3 people in a Canoe or 4 people if the two children sitting in the centre weigh max. 35 kg per child.
Spread the sailing to the entire Gudenåen to ease the pressure between Tørring - Mossø.
The pressure is least when travelling outside weekends and Mondays.
Before starting the journey, it is recommended to make sure you can arrive at your accommodation before 18:00
If you have a long journey to your starting point, spend the first day on transport and spend the night at the starting point. The next morning, your canoe or kayak will be handed over and you can start your trip in peace and quiet.
Keep distance between the Canoes.
Never stand up in the canoe.
Always wear a life jacket.
Keep your distance from fishing gear.
Keep a safe distance from the shuttle boats.
Always keep right for oncoming traffic.
Beware of the lakes in bad weather - wait or sail close to the shore on the lee side of the lake.
Fires are only allowed on campsites with specially designated fire pits.
Give others the same experiences and joys you've had, erase all traces of you.
Protecting nature.
Remember your common sense and follow the unwritten rules!
Alcohol consumption and noisy behaviour. In future, the focus will be on alcohol consumption/noisy behaviour on the river and especially at Rest/Tent and Campsites along the river. If the problem occurs, the canoe(s) will be confiscated, the trip will end and no money will be refunded.

Sailing is only allowed from 16 June to 31 December, between 8:00-18:00
Sailing is only allowed with a valid access badge.
Sailing with larger groups must be divided into units of max. 5 canoes at the start of the race, travelling at an appropriate distance that is maintained throughout the race.
Sailing against the current is prohibited.
Landing on both sides along the Klosterkanal at Klostermølle is prohibited.
Violation of the above sailing rules is punishable by a fine.

Noisy behaviour during sailing is not allowed.
Please note that sound boxes and large speakers are not allowed on Gudenåen.
Tying the canoe together is not allowed.
Fishing and hunting are not permitted without special authorisation from those entitled to fish and hunt.
Avoid damaging banks, spawning banks and reed beds by collision.
Littering is not allowed
